Clefs Explained
The clefs explained here are the bass and treble, which comprise the grand staff (or piano staff). Pianists, unless reading a lead sheet, will read both, which results in vertical and horizontal reading. The bass (or "F") and treble (or "G") staves can easily understood. You are about to be presented with a very simple explanation supported with easy-to-understand graphics. When approached from the right perspective, it really doesn't have to be a major task. In addition to knowing how to read the notes on the grand staff, you will also learn the association of this staff to the keys on the piano keyboard, which is of utmost importance. Take a moment to get your copy, print it out, grab a favorite beverage, and master this stuff! (Let's face it: once you can read sheet music, you've got a world of fun at your fingertips!)
