Learn Piano Online Play By Ear - The Secret

Learn Piano Online Play By Ear - If you want to learn how to play piano by ear, you simply need to get started.
When you thinking of the concept of playing by ear, what comes to mind? Are you immediately faced with an
inner dialog that responds, "But I don't know how" or "I don't know what I need to do to begin" or I don't know
if I have what it takes," or anything similar?

If so, that's the first obstacle to overcome, and you can do this. Simply accept the fact on faith that you
have the ability and what you need to learn will come to you at the right time and the right place. You are
here reading this. Something took you here - an inner desire to understand something better. The fact that
you are inspired to want to play by ear is evidence that the ability is already within you.

You've been "playing by ear" ever since you were a baby. You heard someone utter "Daddy" or "Mommy"
or something similar. In a very natural way, you made efforts to repeat what you heard. The first several times,
you may have gotten close with "Dada" or "Mama" but you were certainly on your way!

Playing music by ear works the same way. The way to begin is to start making those efforts to duplicate what you
hear musically. Also - and this is important - you need to make those efforts with the same lack of judgment
toward yourself that you had when uttering those first words. You had full acceptance of yourself and your actions
then. You didn't say, "Dada" isn't how it goes, when I am gonna get this right! Can't I do anything right!"

Sit at that piano or keyboard of yours and start with the melody of a simple tune that you can hum without even
thinking about it. Perhaps "Happy Birthday" or "Mary Had A Little Lamb" or something else that is ingrained in
your memory. Play any note on the piano and sing or hum that note. Let that serve as the first note of the song.
Now keep singing (or humming) the song a little at a time and play notes that match what you're singing. Do this
with full acceptance. The secret is to allow the process to be a game that consists of no judgment toward yourself
or your efforts. It's a game of elimination... you use the "wrong notes" to find the right ones, much like playing
a video game on your television screen. You just try to score points... you hit some... you miss some... as you
play the game more, you hit more. Have no anxiety about getting through the process quickly. Keep it fun.
That, truly, is the secret to success.
