The Magic 3

This is pretty neat, and you're right about the instant results. I thought improvising was something beyond me, or at least I figured I'd have to learn a lot of chords and scales before playing some stuff that sounded good. I like this approach and I've been working with for about 5 weeks now. I was playing an original improvisation a few nights above and my husband peeked through the door and said, "What you were just playing sounded a little like George Winston." Wow, me? HaHa! That was quite the compliment. What I liked about this video was that it didn't assume that I had a certain background. I played through it once... the second time around, I just followed it step by step. I didn't use all the techniques mentioned before I was playing what sounded pretty good. Actually, I still haven't used all of them, but I do understand them. So "The Magic 3" really did make for some magic in my household this week.

Also, the chord progression article opened my eyes in certain regards and made me curious to learn more, so thanks for that. I never even knew about those Roman numerals before. I saw them, but didn't understand them.

Just wanted you to know that your material is appreciated!
